Understanding idioms should be easy as pie. However, they are often quite confusing . Which idioms do you use ? Have you ever heard anyone in your family use idioms when speaking? Do you come across idioms while you are reading? How are you able to decipher the figurative meaning?

I love the Amelia Bedelia books. They are funny because they have a lot of idioms in them. An idiom I like is "A piece of cake" and "As easy as pie." Idioms are weird and fun. My name is Lydeyia and I like idioms. What's your favorite idiom?

When I take my time my mom would say that I was slow a molasses. I thought about her phrase and knew that I was being slow so I knew what she meant. Sometimes I,myself, use idioms. I think idioms are very useful to make a better point. Idioms make a better poimt than the everyday phrases we use.

When my brother told me to hit the road, I thought I was really suppose to go and hit the road. Then I realized it meant I had to get going. He was telling me to hurry up. I was able to use clues around what he was saying. Then I knew I had to hurry up so we could play.
